Cervical screening, sometimes called a smear, is an important part of sexual health. We use it to check for cell changes that could become cervical cancer.
Our specially trained nurses collect a sample from your cervix. They are then looked at in a lab. If there are cell changes, we will refer you to a hospital department called colposcopy. We want to make your appointment as comfortable as possible. Before we do the procedure, we will talk you through it. If you want to stop at any point, you can. You can also bring someone with you, if you would like support. You can book a cervical screening appointment at one of our hubs. If you would prefer, you can come to one of our drop-in clinics. |
