Coils

Hormonal Coil (IUS)
The hormonal coil (IUS) is a small T-shaped device that releases progestogen into your womb to prevent pregnancy.

It’s over 99% effective and lasts 3–8 years, depending on the brand.

It can make periods lighter and less painful and can be used for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in menopause.

It’s safe to use while breastfeeding, and fertility returns immediately after removal.

It doesn’t protect against STIs, so condoms are still recommended.

Who can use it?

Most people with a womb can use a hormonal IUS.

We’ll start with a phone appointment to check suitability before arranging your fitting. LINK TO CONTACT US
