Vaccines

Gonorrhoea Vaccine
We’re happy to be able to offer a Gonorrhoea vaccination (Bexsero) at all of our hubs.

The vaccine is for people who are at higher risk of catching gonorrhoea and gives partial protection — around 30 to 40% — so you should still use other safer-sex measures, like condoms.

Who is it for?

This vaccine is currently recommended for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) who are at higher risk. This includes people who’ve had a bacterial Sexually Transmitted Infection in the past year or those with multiple partners.

How does it work?

It’s a two-dose course, given at least four weeks apart. It won’t prevent every case of gonorrhoea, but it does lower your risk and helps protect the wider community too.

Is it safe?

Most people feel completely fine afterwards. Some get mild side-effects like a sore arm or a headache.

Not sure if you’re eligible?

Come and see us for a chat either in a walk in clinic or booked appointment. We’re happy to talk it through, answer any questions, and help you decide what’s right for you.

For more information, visit the UKHSA Website.
Mpox Vaccine
We're happy to announce that appointments for the mpox vaccination will be available in two of our sites from December.

Who is it for?

This vaccine is currently recommended for gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) who are at higher risk. This includes people who have multiple sexual partners or participate in group sex.

How does it work?

It’s a two-dose course, given at least four weeks apart. Most of the protection comes from the first dose, so having one dose will significantly reduce the risk of getting mpox.

Is it safe?

Most people feel completely fine afterwards. Some get mild side-effects like a sore arm or a headache.

Not sure if you’re eligible?

Come and see us for a chat at a booked appointment. We’re happy to talk it through, answer any questions, and help you decide what’s right for you. The mpox vaccine is NOT available at walk in clinics.
